The best tours from Labuan Bajo – Komodo, Padar & Pink Beach

The current inventory is dominated by boat trips into Komodo National Park: day trips by speedboat or wooden boat, multi-day sailing and liveaboard trips, plus snorkeling and diving. On land there are Wae Rebo village tours, waterfall and canyon day trips and multi-day Flores overland tours. Check the departure point and what is included in each listing.

Komodo dragons live wild on Komodo and Rinca, among other islands, and visitors usually see them on guided walks. Because they are wild animals, a sighting can never be guaranteed. Some listings advertise a “dragon guarantee” in the title: read the terms on the booking page to see what it actually covers.

It depends on the listing. Some state “all fees” or “entrance fees included” in the title, for others you need to read the list of inclusions on the booking page. According to the park office, foreign visitors pay IDR 250,000 per person for entry (rate still in force in April 2026); listings quote higher, undivided figures. Since 1 April 2026 the park admits at most 1,000 visitors a day and sells tickets only through its SiOra app, so ask the operator what its figure covers and whether it books your entry in advance.

The current inventory is mostly two-day, one-night trips and a few longer combinations; a day trip exists but is very long. According to tour listings the drive from Labuan Bajo takes several hours to the trailhead and the walk up takes a few more. Ask the operator about timings, the sleeping arrangement and what is included, and whether the trail is open: the village closed after the earthquake of 15 August 2026 and has been open on a trial basis since 1 September 2026.

It is a working harbour town rather than a beach resort, and there is no rail network. The park islands, Padar and Pink Beach can only be reached by boat, and roads on Flores are winding, so land trips are long. Sources disagree. The dry season, roughly April to November, is the window named most often for boat trips and manta rays, while other sources point to different months for particular sites. Weather and sea conditions can change or cancel a boat trip at short notice, so check the cancellation terms before booking.
